Chardonnay
White wine grape variety from the Burgundy group, which is grown all over the world and is native to France (Chablis, Burgundy),
Cabernet Franc
Related to the Cabernet Sauvignon, with less a distinctive aroma and tannin.
Cabernet Sauvignon
Red quality wine from France which is grown all over the world in hot climates. In order to reduce the strong aroma and the tannin, it is often blended with Merlot or Cabernet Franc. It is the most widely known red wine with barrique vinification.
Feteaska, Mädchentraube
Strong growing, yellow wine grape from Transylvania, Romania.
Chaptal
White table grapes with large berries and average maturing period. Named after Jean Antonine Chaptal (1756 – 1832), a minister and winegrowing expert from France.
Gammay Noir
Grape variety for young, fruity red wines in France (Beaujolais).
Grenache
Native to the southern winegrowing areas of Europe (Spain Garnacha Tinta), this red wine type is now widespread in hotter winegrowing areas.
Yellow Muscatel

Ruländer
The “grey Burgundy” grape was discovered by Johann Seger Ruland (1683 – 1745) in 1711 in an abandoned garden in Speyer, which had been destroyed in 1689. The grape variety from the Burgundy family is named after its discoverer and is renowned because of its high maturity and richness. Due to the nature of the (dry) grapes, they are called “Tokayer” in the Alsace.
