Blue Pinot Noir
Just like the Riesling, the King of White Wines, the Pinot Noir is definitely the King of Red Wines. The grape variety is native to Burgundy where its cultivation has been documented since the 14th century. The wines are full-bodied and velvety with a fine, blackberry-like aroma, which is also known as Burgundy note.
Among German red wines, the Pinot Noirs are the most highly regarded. In shops and restaurants you will also often find barriqued varieties of high-priced Pinot Noirs. The wines have long been part of premium, exclusive, and special series and are used for the improvement of spicy roasts and game dishes.
