Deidesheim has always been a draw for epicures, artists, politicians and prominent people. Former German Chancellor Helmut Kohl made Deidesheim a historic venue by inviting important guests of the state to this exquisite vine town. Among the visitors were, the Soviet State President Gorbatschow, the British Prime Ministers Margaret Thatcher and John Major and Canadian Prime Minister Mulroney.

On the evening of your arrival, you are given a warm welcome in the historic town hall of Deidesheim. After the reception, you can enjoy Helmut Kohl’s favorite food or a specialty that was created especially for John Major in the famous “Deidesheimer Hof” hotel. The next morning, a skilled guide welcomes you after you have enjoyed a substantial breakfast. The guide will then accompany you on your short trip to the imperial city of Speyer and its imposing cathedral. You can be sure that your visit to Speyer, with its numerous attractions, will be a unique and impressive experience. After a tour of the town, you will be able to find refreshment from a typical winegrower’s platter with lots of Palatinate specialties. Back in Deidesheim, an 8-course wine tasting in one of the well-known wineries awaits you. Apart from getting to know the typical wines of the region, you will also learn a lot of interesting facts about wine culture. Your “Deidesheim Experience” will be completed by a tour through the charming alleys of the wine town and a visit to the Museum of Wine Culture.
