3. The Fountain Tour
"The faces of water, a glance at the history of fountains in Deidesheim"
A source of fresh water is a prerequisite for the establishment of a settlement. Wells provide the residents with fresh water and the first hot and cold running water in a house was a true sensation. 4.Guided Tour of the Museum of Wine Culture
In the Realm of Bacchus and St. Urban – Experience Wine Culture
The Museum of Wine Culture has been housed in the historical town hall of Deidesheim since 1986. As it tries to illustrate the various interrelations of man and wine it is not intended to be a mere depository for exhibits. Instead, it displays the entire spectrum of topics that are related to the complex idea of wine culture. Take part in this tour, which offers insight into different areas such as wine in the Ancient World, the origin of the vine, healthy aspects of wine and much more.

5. Guided Tour of the German Museum of Film and Photo Technology
Eye-to-eye with Film and Photo Technology
Here, photo lovers and movie buffs will gain a detailed insight into amazing masterpieces of optics, precision mechanics and electronics. Due to its technical an aesthetical qualities, the fascinating world of moving pictures also enhances the cultural importance of photography and film.

6. Experts Guide You Through the Vineyards Around Deidesheim
From vine to wine – experience a vineyard
Whether you are pouring the dark-red or sparkling golden liquid, wine itself does not reveal the manifold working processes of the winegrower. Learn more about the work of a winegrower and take an expertly guided tour round their place of work in the vineyard.

7. Guided Hike Through Vineyards and Forests Around Deidesheim
A happy get-together and an expert guide at hand – the best conditions for hiking. Past the Eva in the Paradiesgarten, the biotope at the Kirchberg, the Michaels Chapel, or the Heidelöcher – it is your choice.

9. Tour to and of Speyer
2000 years of age yet lively as ever
Even from a great distance, you can see the Romanesque imperial cathedral of Speyer from the 11th century. The small Heathen-Tower, the Antiquity Hall, and the Mount of Olives surround this symbol and main attraction of the town. However, Speyer has a lot more to offer. On a tour of the town, you will discover a historic testimony to church architecture, impressive façades from different eras, winding alleys and charming squares.

10. Palatinate Experience Tour (program by arrangement)
Right in the middle of the Palatinate sea of vines
You will be truly astonished at how much there is to discover on this fascinating tour. Rolling vineyards with sleepy villages, strange rock formations and imposing castles in the Palatinate Forest. The latter bears testimony to the eventful history of the Palatinate and entices visitors to stay a while and take a closer look, with a glass of good Palatinate wine, of course.

11. Trip to Hambach Castle and Speyer
“Hobnobbing with simple residents and German Emperors”
This tour combines two prominent attractions of the Palatinate – Hambach Castle, the cradle of German democracy, and Speyer Cathedral. While the Hambach Castle is known mainly for the Hambach Festival of 1832, the imperial cathedral is one of the most important and largest Romanesque buildings in Germany. The tour of the town will also guide you through the historic old town, traces of Jewish culture, the tallest town gate in Germany and much more.

12. Advent
A special Christmas Tour from St. Martin to Candlemas
Each year in Advent, we light the candles of our Advent wreaths. On Christmas Eve, sparkling bells hang on our Christmas tree, which we have decorated with loving care and imagination. But do you know when Advent started? We invite you to take a trip with us into the history of Christmas with lots of surprising and long forgotten explanations of our customs during Advent and Christmas. With its lights, scents and carols, the Deidesheim Christmas Fair provides an ideal setting for the tour.

13. Heavenly customs and historic adventures in Deidesheim, the Other Paradise
“God save the beautiful Palatinate”
Enjoy, listen, and watch: On your guided hike through the beautiful surroundings of Deidesheim, and the Palatinate Forest, you will experience fresh air, cozy huts, and poems and stories about Palatinate traditions and wine.
Duration: about 3 hrs. of hiking (approx. 10 km) followed by a snack, return after approx. 5 hrs. (wear a sturdy pair of shoes)

14. Experience Palatinate Customs and Traditions on Your Bike
Carpe diem
Find some time to unwind on the saddle of your bike and enjoy the beautiful view of the region. The guided cycling tour leads you through “Germany’s Tuscany” and is spiced up with amusing poems, stories and anecdotes from the “Italian” Palatinate. If requested, the tour can be rounded off with a Mediterranean snack in a winery (wine not included).
Duration: approx. 3 hrs. cycling tour (about 25 km) followed by a Mediterranean snack, return after approx. 5 hrs. (please bring bikes)

15.“Rosenmädchen” – Female Figures in the History of the Palatinate
Literary Tour in and around Deidesheim
Guided literary tour of the town and its close surroundings with stories and poems by and about interesting women from the Palatinate. As an avid cook, your guide will also reveal one or two culinary secrets of the typical Palatinate housewife.

16. Heavenly Hours in the wine community of Niederkirchen
Visit Niederkirchen, the ‘mother’ of Deidesheim, and stop off at the Manfred Deimel Winery (Saarstr. 14). This family business, which offers a broad range of wines of different quality levels and tastes, allows you to participate in a wine tasting of six different house wines. A homemade platter (cold) or a Palatinate dish (warm) rounds off your visit to the Manfred Deimel Winery.
